Understanding basic scientific principles of environmental protection. Adopting responsible and sustainable environmental behaviors. Skills in tree conservation and natural resource management. Planning and implementing tree planting suited to the local environment to combat desertification.


Opportunity requirements

A qualified trainer specialized in environmental education or environmental sciences. A suitable training venue or learning space (classroom or field-based). Simplified scientific training materials (presentations, brochures, awareness posters). Presentation equipment (projector, screen, flipchart or whiteboard). Practical tools when needed (plant samples, seeds, or illustrative seedlings). Participation of a group of youth within the targeted age group. Compliance with safety measures and environmental protection guidelines.


The training and participation plan
It includes an explanation of the activities and steps necessary to implement the opportunity, with an explanation of the time periods and costs for each activity and for the entire opportunity, as providing this information accurately reflects the professionalism of those in charge of the opportunity and their experience in the field of community work.

Action Plan – Environmental Educational Session (English) 1. Session Opening (5 minutes) Objective: Create a welcoming atmosphere and encourage participants’ engagement. Description: An interactive icebreaker game using movement and sounds to build connection and energy among participants. 2. Environmental Knowledge Basics (5 minutes) Objective: Provide youth with basic environmental concepts and highlight the impact of climate change on Lebanon. Description: Facilitated discussion introducing key environmental concepts and linking them to the local context. 3. Warm-Up Activity (10 minutes) Objectives: Stimulate environmental thinking. Energize participants and strengthen mutual acquaintance. Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Description: Activity titled “Me and the Environment in One Word”, where each participant expresses their relationship with the environment using a single word. 4. Challenge Activity (20 minutes) Objectives: Connect personal life experiences with the human–environment relationship. Enhance critical thinking and self-expression. Foster a sense of responsibility toward nature. Description: Activity “My Life Story with the Environment”, where participants share personal stories or experiences related to the environment. 5. Review and Reflection (5 minutes) Objective: Allow participants to share feedback and reflections on the session. Description: Interactive activity “Hot Potato Game” to collect opinions in a fun and engaging way. 6. Closing – My Promise to the Environment (5 minutes) Objective: Strengthen personal commitment to positive environmental behavior. Description: Each participant writes a personal environmental pledge and places it on the Promise Tree as a symbolic act of commitment. Evaluation: Review collected pledges to assess participants’ awareness and level of engagement.
