The opportunity "Collect Plastic, Revive Nature" aims to reduce plastic waste and encourage recycling in Deir El Ahmar. Participants will first attend a short training workshop at the Makani Center on October 25, 2025, to learn about the effects of plastic pollution and proper recycling methods. On October 26, 2025, they will collect plastic waste from households in the neighborhoods of Al-Baladiyeh, Mar Gerges, and Al-Shaab, and deliver it to the recycling facility to support a cleaner and more sustainable community.

The opportunity will take place over two days in Deir El Ahmar. On October 25, 2025, participants will gather at 11:30 a.m. at the Makani Center – Deir El Ahmar to attend a two-hour training workshop. The session will cover the impact of plastic on the environment, recycling methods, and how to organize an effective community clean-up. On October 26, 2025, participants will gather at 9:30 a.m. to begin collecting plastic waste from households in Al-Baladiyeh, Mar Gerges, and Al-Shaab neighborhoods. The collected plastic will be sorted and delivered to a recycling facility by 3:00 p.m. Lunch, refreshments, gloves, bags, and transportation to the recycling facility will be provided for all participants.
