As part of the Greener Lebanon program, this initiative aims to expand the green areas in the town of Fakiha through an organized tree-planting campaign. Its impact goes beyond the environmental dimension, as it also seeks to revive the spirit of coexistence and strengthen the sense of shared responsibility among the town’s residents.

For years, the absence of a municipality, coupled with the historical division between Christian and Muslim communities, has led to the neglect of public spaces and hindered development initiatives. This initiative, therefore, carries particular importance as it seeks to overcome these barriers through collaboration with the newly elected municipal council and by engaging all segments of the community in a shared environmental and developmental goal.

The initiative also seeks to challenge the mentality of prioritizing private interests over the public good, by promoting joint environmental action and fostering a culture of cooperation, openness, and sustainable development.
