Solid waste and environmental pollution are among the most significant challenges facing our
communities. Collective action and volunteerism are essential steps toward creating cleaner and healthier public spaces.
This opportunity invites passionate volunteers to join an environmental clean-up campaign aimed at removing litter from public areas and natural spaces, while promoting a culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship within the community.
The activity will be carried out by SPHERE Building Tomorrow (SBT) in coordination with UNICEF, as part of a unified effort to promote positive environmental behavior and encourage active community participation.
The campaign will include providing clean-up equipment, sorting recyclable waste, and documenting efforts through photos and media content.
• Volunteers will participate in waste collection and sorting.
• Safety gear (gloves, bags, etc.) will be provided.
• Certificates of participation will be awarded to active volunteers.
• A great opportunity to strengthen teamwork and environmental responsibility.

Arrival & Registration • Welcome participants. • Distribute safety gear (gloves, masks) and bags • Brief introduction on objectives, safety rules, and waste sorting methods. Clean-Up Activity • Divide participants into small groups and assign zones. • Collect solid waste in designated community/public areas. Sort waste into: o Recyclable (plastics, paper, glass, metals) / Non-recyclable /Reusable items o Volunteers document progress (photos, videos, waste amounts). Waste Gathering & Disposal Coordination • Bring collected waste to a central point. • Ensure recyclables are placed in designated collection bags • Coordinate with the LLR or recycling partner for pickup and proper disposal if applicable. Reflection & Wrap-Up • Short group discussion and Group photo, acknowledgment of volunteers, and closing remarks.
