As part of our ongoing environmental efforts, LOST organized a volunteer activity dedicated to tree plantation in Tannoura Public School and the areas surrounding with an expected participation of approximately 35 volunteers in this impactful initiative.

An educational and interactive activity aimed at strengthening the bond between participants and nature through planting a seedling for each person. Participants will be asked to express their feelings about the planting experience and write a simple pledge to take care of their tree.

The participants will learn the correct steps for planting trees, then each one will plant a seedling and place a sign with either their name or the tree’s name. The activity will conclude with a group discussion circle where everyone shares their impressions after the planting process, along with the option to take individual and group photos as a keepsake.

One of the most prominent risks given the environmental conditions in Lebanon is water scarcity, which can lead to weak seedling growth or their death, as well as a decrease in participants’ commitment to follow-up. To mitigate these risks, a clear irrigation and follow-up plan will be implemented, plant species suitable for the local environment will be selected, and participants will be encouraged to take responsibility by motivating them to care for and regularly monitor their trees.
