The climate change education session will take place from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM as part of a broader environmental youth engagement activity. The session will begin promptly at 9:00 AM with a brief welcome and participant check-in. Youth participants (aged 15–24) will then be introduced to the objectives of the session and the key themes: understanding climate change, its impact on Lebanon, and the role of youth in addressing environmental challenges. The first part of the session (approximately 10 minutes) will include an interactive presentation that simplifies climate science and explains how climate change is affecting local communities, especially coastal and vulnerable areas like Ouzai. This will be followed by a 15-minute group discussion and activity, where participants will work in small teams to identify environmental challenges in their own neighborhoods and brainstorm potential climate solutions. The final 15–20 minutes will be used for hands-on learning and role-play, where youth will simulate advocacy or awareness-raising campaigns using creative methods (like social media, art, or peer education). Participants will be encouraged to share their reflections and ideas, helping them link knowledge with action in a practical and youth-friendly way. Throughout the session, the applicants are expected to actively engage, contribute their ideas, and collaborate with peers. No prior knowledge is required—only interest and openness to learn. All necessary materials for the session (notebooks, pens, printed visuals) will be provided on-site. This opportunity reflects our commitment to meaningful youth engagement and to delivering high-quality community-based learning experiences that are relevant, accessible, and impactful. Ask ChatGPT
