The volunteer opportunity plan
It includes an explanation of the activities and steps necessary to implement the opportunity, with an explanation of the time periods and costs for each activity and for the entire opportunity, as providing this information accurately reflects the professionalism of those in charge of the opportunity and their experience in the field of community work.

The first activity will focus on irrigating and reforesting Marjet Ras Al Ain, where drought has severely affected nearly 50-year-old trees, leaving many at risk of dying. Volunteers will not only help with irrigation but will also plant 75 baby Thuja shrubs along one of Baalbek’s most vibrant streets, adding greenery and revitalizing the public space. This effort aims to protect Baalbek’s green heritage and provide a healthier environment for the community. The second activity will target plastic waste collection at Bayada Spring, once a popular natural site that has now dried up due to water scarcity and reduced rainfall. Despite its decline, Bayada remains an important cultural and social gathering spot, but unfortunately, it has turned into an informal dumping area for plastic cups and litter. Volunteers will work together to collect 50 kilograms of plastic waste, restoring the area’s beauty while raising awareness about environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. To ensure effectiveness, participants will be divided into three dedicated groups: Plantation group – planting the 75 Thuja shrubs. Plastic collection group – removing 50 kg of plastic from Bayada. (This group) Irrigation group – watering and supporting the trees at Marjet Ras Al Ain. Volunteers will gather at 8:00 AM to kick off the activities. This opportunity offers volunteers a chance to engage in hands-on environmental action, contribute to the protection of Baalbek’s natural resources, and strengthen the community’s resilience against climate challenges.
