Green Steps in Mina: Youth in Action
A community-led environmental clean-up campaign that puts youth at the forefront of creating a cleaner, greener Mina.
This initiative aims to empower young volunteers to take meaningful action for their environment while strengthening their role in shaping a more sustainable future.
Through this event, youth participants will:
Develop hands-on experience in environmental stewardship
Raise awareness about proper waste management and the protection of natural spaces
Take part in building local climate resilience and civic engagement
Contribute to the beautification and long-term sustainability of Mina

On August 21st , the clean-up event in Mina will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The day will kick off with the arrival and registration of around 200 youth participants, who will be provided with gloves and cleaning supplies. A brief orientation will follow, outlining the goals of the activity, safety instructions, and the process for sorting waste. At 9:30 AM, participants will engage in a climate education session, raising awareness on environmental issues and the role of youth in climate action. By 10:00 AM, the clean-up will begin in assigned areas, with teams working together to collect and separate waste. Around 11:00 AM, a short break with refreshments will be offered to keep everyone energized. The final part of the activity will focus on gathering the collected waste at the designated point and making sure all areas are left clean. The event will wrap up with a group photo and a short closing session to thank participants and emphasize the value of youth involvement in environmental efforts.
